Vtg 14K Gold Bohemian Garnet Bracelet Victorian 41.7g Magnificent Estate Find. Length – Approximately 7.0. Centerpiece – Approximately 1.25″ x 1.25″. Width of garnet beaded garnet portion – Approximately. Weight – 41.7 grams with a large part of that weight being 14k yellow gold. Marked, Tested and confirmed as 14k gold and genuine garnets. Age – Best estimate shortly after 1900 – Victorian/Art Nouveau. Construction details – Beautiful large domed garnet centerpiece, the stones are prong set, they are simply smaller prongs but can been seen in the photos. The centerpiece is set on a base of solid 14k yellow gold, each garnet strand is constructed and attached with a yellow gold chain, the safety chain is not detachable for security. The very back of side settings where the large pure 14k gold attaches to the strands does appear to have a thin stabilizer plate which is not 14k gold. It’s thin and it is there for strength since the higher the karat gold, the softer it is. It is visible in the photos. Carat weight – Impossible for me to discern, it’s high. The natural garnet twisted bracelet area is constructed to where I cannot even be sure I’m accurately counting the strands. The bracelet is magnificent. It’s very old and came from the estate of someone with a number of very high quality pieces. Gold weight, the bracelet weighs 41.7 grams, a lot of that weight is 14k gold. The rarity and artistry of the item however, far outweigh that value. Please notify us of an intent to return within 3 days with 14 days to return being allowed. Any reason is acceptable.
