EDOUARD RAMBAUD Huge Cuff BRACELET Gold Tone Fabric 2-1/2 Wide Paris Runway. Set in rich, gleaming gold tone metal and likely inspired by the elegant drape of opulent fabrics, this massive vintage Edouard Rambaud cuff bracelet is quite Sensational. The entire surface is in motion with gracefully undulating waves of gold metal giving it depth, dimension and texture and the bracelet looks extremely important. At the center of the bracelet, the tapering inside circumference is about 6-1/2″, including the 1-1/8″ opening in the back to slip it on your wrist. At the longer end, the inside dimensions are about 2-1/2″ by 2″. It measures a whopping 2-5/8 wide and weighs in at over 132 grams. The bracelet is signed on the back in a circular cartouche “Edouard Ramboud Paris”. Edouard Ramboud has been known for his baroque jewelry since 1984 and this big beautiful cuff is an especially desirable example of his work. There is wear to the gold metal finish on some high points, which is not terribly distracting because with the undulating surface, it looks like shadows. And overall the bracelet still gleams beautifully with movement in the play of light. Apart from that, which appears in keeping with the draped design, the cuff is in Very Good vintage condition with just expected surface dirt and scratches. There is a small hole you can see in the photo of the back on the right side, second fold from the bottom, that was drilled deliberately near the corner edge of the bracelet in manufacture, mentioned only for completeness and I do not know what purpose it might have served. And looks stupendous on the arm! Classic and elegant; big, striking and dramatic, it will. Managing to be tailored, sporty and glamorous, all at the same time, it is versatile and will go with everything, from denim to dressy.
